José M. Sempere is an Associate Professor of the Department of Informatics Systems and Computation from the Universitat Politècnica de València, Spain (UPV). He is the scientific director of the Valencian Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence (VRAIN) at UPV. He is member of the Steering Committee for the Conference on Membrane Computing, and also of the Bulletin Committee of The International Membrane Computing Society (IMCS). His research areas include membrane computing, natural computing, bioinformatics and computational biology.
